Hiroshi Kato ( Japanese 加藤 寛 Katō Hiroshi , born January 29, 1951 in the district of Kume , Okayama Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football coach .

Kato grew up in Kobe and graduated from Osaka University of Health and Sport Sciences in 1973 . From 1973 to 1995 he was technical director in the coaching team of the amateur club FC Kobe . In 1995 he obtained an S trainer license and moved to the professional club Vissel Kobe , where he worked as a youth trainer and deputy head of the training and development department. In 2004 he became head of the division. At the same time, between 1977 and 1998, he performed various youth activities for the Japanese Football Association .

1997, after the separation from Stuart Baxter , and 2004, after the separation from Ivan Hašek , he officiated for a few games as interim coach of the first division team of Vissel Kobe. In 1997 he led the team in the fourth round of the Kaiser Cup and scored one win and one loss. For the second time he coached the club from October 2004 to early January 2005. During this time, he won four games, lost two and reached a draw.
