Hirut Meshesha ( Amharic ሂሩት መሸሻ ; * January 20, 2001 ) is an Ethiopian middle-distance runner who specializes in the 800-meter run .
Athletic career
Hirut Meshesha gained her first international experience at the 2017 World Youth Championships in Nairobi , where she won the bronze medal in 2: 06.32 minutes. The following year she won the African Youth Games in Algiers in 2: 04.66 minutes and won the bronze medal at the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires . In 2019 she had to admit defeat only to Kenyan Jackline Wambui at the Junior African Championships in Abidjan in 2: 04.70 min . At the end of August she won the Africa Games in Rabat in 2: 03.16 minutes.
In 2019 Meshesha became the Ethiopian champion in the 800-meter run.
