That Hitachi Rail STS , formerly Ansaldo STS SpA and previously Ansaldo Signaling and Transportation Systems , is an Italian technology company , that of the area Railway - and SPNV -Geschäftes as general contractor occurs and supplier of train control systems.

40% of the company was taken over by the transport division of the Hitachi group in 2015 and over 50% in 2016 . In January 2019 Hitachi took over the majority in Ansaldo STS. Ansaldo STS was then taken off the stock exchange and has been trading under the name Hitachi Rail STS ever since.

history

The company was founded in 2006 from the two subsidiaries Ansaldo Signal  and  Ansaldo Trasporti Sistemi Ferroviari held by Ansaldo Trasporti  .

Projects

The following projects are being or have been implemented by Ansaldo STS:

Automatic metro systems:

  • Copenhagen Metro (opened in 2002)
  • Metropolitana di Brescia (opened in 2013)
  • Metro Thessaloniki (under construction)
  • Metro Honolulu (partial opening planned for 2017)
  • Line 5 of the Milano Metro (partial opening 2013)
  • Extension of the route from Piazza Dante to Piazza Garibaldi on Line 1 of the Naples Metro (opening 2013)
  • Line C of the Rome Metro (opening 2014)
  • Extension of the Genoa Metro from De Farrari to Brignole (Ansaldo STS as general contractor, opening 2012)
  • Line 6 of the Naples Metro (Ansaldo STS as general contractor, opening 2007)
  • Lines 2 and 3 of the Florence tram (opening planned for 2016 and 2017)
  • Installation of the conductor rails for the extension of Line 1 of the Metro Milano (opening planned for 2017)
  • Line 2 and a branch of Line 4 of the Lima Metro
