The HIWIN Technologies Corporation ( Chinese  上 銀 科技 , Pinyin Shàngyín Kējì ) is a Taiwanese group in the field of drive technology with 8 subsidiaries worldwide. The company produces and sells profile rail guides , ball screws and positioning systems . The German branch is in Offenburg . The name "HIWIN" was created by combining the words "Hi-tech" and "Winner".

HIWIN mainly supplies manufacturers of machine tools, metal, plastic and wood processing companies, industrial companies in the areas of measurement and testing technology, packaging, general automation, medical technology, applications, and the semiconductor, photovoltaic and solar industries.

Hiwin - Offenburg location

HIWIN was founded in 1989 by Eric YT Chuo. In 1993 the company expanded in the USA and Germany. 1997 HIWIN Mikrosystem was founded in Taiwan . Additional locations in Switzerland (2000), the Czech Republic (2001) and Japan ( Tokyo , 2003), as well as Italy (2018) were added.

In 2017, HIWIN had sales of $ 695.68 million and after-tax profits of $ 89 million.

HIWIN Deutschland (GmbH) is involved in the Deutschlandstipendium .
