High frequency measurement technology
The high- frequency measurement technology (also high-frequency measurement technology ; short: HF measurement technology ) is a sub-area of high-frequency technology and thus one of the areas of engineering , namely electrical engineering . It deals with the theory and practice of measurement technology for electromagnetic signals in the high frequency range, i.e. in particular at frequencies from around 3 MHz to around 30 THz and beyond.
High frequency measuring devices
Suitable HF measuring devices are of central importance for HF measurement technology . These include in particular RF signal generators , power meters , frequency counters , spectrum analyzers and network analyzers . These are used to test electrical components such as coils and capacitors , HF components such as oscillators , amplifiers , directional couplers and isolators , but also to test entire systems, such as broadcasting systems for radio or television , to measure the data content of HF receivers , such as cell phones or smartphones , and for the metrological characterization of antennas such as parabolic or yagi antennas .
