The Hochkopf is a mountain in the Rastatt district in the northern Black Forest at 1038.5  m above sea level. NHN . It is located northeast of the nearby Hornisgrinde , the highest mountain in the northern Black Forest. About 700 meters away is the Pfrimmackerkopf at 1035.7  m above sea level as part of the same mountain range to the north . NHN . The plateau with its Schonwald , typical of the northern Black Forest Grinde , is located in the conservation area Buhlertal.

The B 500 , the Black Forest High Road , runs from Hundseck ( 884  m ) to Unterstmatt ( 928  m ), two (former) locations of Höhenhotels on the holiday road, at a height of about 900 m on the north and west side of the Hochkopf . From there, the mountain is accessible via hiking trails. At Unterstmatt there is a ski slope with the Hochkopf ski lift on the southern slope of the mountain .
