Hochrhein-Klettgau is a landscape protection area in the district of Waldshut in Baden-Württemberg .

Location and description

The approximately 3596 hectare landscape protection area consists of six sub-areas and was created by ordinance of the Waldshut district office of May 19, 1987. When this ordinance came into force, the Waldshut district office's order for the protection of parts of the landscape on the Upper Rhine in the Waldshut district of May 22, 1954 and the ordinance came into force of the District Office Waldshut from March 1, 1951 over the landscape protection area peninsula Swabia in the district Altenburg of the municipality Jestetten out of force.

The majority of the protected area lies between Dettighofen and the Küssaberg district of Dangstetten . It belongs to the natural area 120- Alb-Wutach area within the natural spatial main unit 12- Neckar- and Tauber-Gäuplatten . The protected landscape area No. 3.37.025 Hohentengen connects to the south. The area is partly in FFH area No. 8316-341 Klettgau ridge .

Protection purpose

The main purpose of protection is maintenance and protection

  • the cultural landscape, which is structured in a variety of ways by means of relief, forest-land distribution,
  • the open landscape as a habitat for plants and animals and as a space for local recreation and vacation for the population,
  • the ability to experience typical landscape elements, such as B. the natural banks of the Rhine,
  • the efficiency of a balanced natural environment.
