The nature and landscape protection area Braunhalden-Schlattboden is located in the area of ​​the municipality of Stühlingen in the district of Waldshut .

Characteristics

The protected areas were designated by ordinance of the Freiburg Regional Council of October 26, 1997. The NSG has a size of 56.99 hectares and is listed under the protected area number 3.239. The LSG is 33.16 hectares in size and has the protected area number 3.37.019. The CDDA code for the nature reserve is 162541 and corresponds to the WDPA ID .

Location and description

The Braunhalden-Schlattboden nature reserve is located in the municipality of Stühlingen in the Bettmaringen district with a size of around 57 ha. It consists of the four sub-areas »Halsäcker«, »Schlattboden«, »Braunhalden« and »Tinkofen«. The "Halsäcker" sub-area comprises the southern slopes in the "Halsäcker" and "Andelbach" tubs as well as the course of the stream itself. The "Schlattboden" sub-area includes the north and south slopes in the "Unterzelgle", "Unterer Schlattboden" and "Oberer Schlattboden" tubs. as well as parts of the Bachaue in the "Eichäcker" and "Hinterbeugen" tubs. The sub-area "Braunhalden" comprises the steep slope in the "Braunhalden" and "Grund" tubs as well as the abolished nature reserve "Beugenhölzle" and the sub-area "Tinkofen" includes parts of the moist Bachaue in the "Tinkofen" area. For the shell limestone landscape on the south-eastern edge of the Black Forest, the nature reserve includes a representative hedge landscape with extensive limestone grasslands that are worth protecting, wetlands and fringing communities. The diverse natural area is of special character and beauty. It is the habitat for a multitude less often, e.g. T. endangered animal and plant species.

Protection purpose

The main protection purpose of the nature reserve is the preservation and development of a hedge landscape that is representative of the shell limestone landscape on the south-eastern edge of the Black Forest, with extensive limestone grasslands, wetlands and fringing communities that are worth protecting

  • as a habitat for a multitude of rare, sometimes highly endangered animal and plant species,
  • as a diverse natural area of ​​special character and beauty and
  • as an area with unusually diverse communities that are dependent on extensive, extensive land use.
