The Nacker Mühle nature reserve is located around the eponymous Nacker Mühle near Nack , a district of Lottstetten in the Waldshut district on the Upper Rhine and on the border with Switzerland near the towns of Ellikon am Rhein and Rüdlingen . With the number 3,200 it has been designated as a nature reserve since March 10, 1994 on an area of 30 ha.
Protection purpose
The protection purpose is the preservation and development of the terrace edge and the valley floor in the area of the Nacker Mühle with near-natural deciduous forest communities typical of the location , flat moors , sedges , reeds and spring areas
- as a habitat for numerous rare, sometimes highly endangered animal and plant species
- as a natural history document for extensive calcareous sinter formations in the area of spring horizons and near-natural streams and
- the deciduous forest typical of the location in the south of the area, which is stagnant on nutrient-poor gravel terraces as an example of a formerly widespread form of forest.
