The Kohlhütte-Lampenschweine nature reserve is located in the municipality of Ibach in the Waldshut district .

Characteristics

The nature reserve was designated by ordinance of the Freiburg Regional Council of April 21, 1996 and has a size of 150.7275 hectares. It is listed under the protected area number 3.221. The CDDA code for the nature reserve is 164188 and corresponds to the WDPA ID .

Location and description

The Kohlhütte-Lampenschweine nature reserve is located in the municipality of Ibach (Black Forest) with a size of around 151 hectares. It extends over the Weidfeld-Moorkomplexe on both sides of the L 150 from the Gewann “Kohlhütte” over the “Großbühl”, the “Neumatt "Until winning" Lamp pigs ". The north-east is rounded off by the moor forests in the Bergmöser district. The nature reserve is a representative landscape for the Hotzenwald with extensive pastures with few trees, high and low moor complexes, near-natural forest communities and open, rocky slopes. In its diversity and large area, characterized by raised bogs, fens, wet meadows and their fallow stages, poor pastures and meadows as well as rocks and forests, this section of the Hotzenwald landscape represents the basis of life for a large number of endangered animal and plant species.

The Ibach , one of the larger right tributaries of the ("Hauensteiner") Alb, rises in the area .

Protection purpose

The main protection purpose is the preservation and development of a landscape section representative of the Hotzenwald with extensive pastures with few trees, high and low moor complexes, near-natural forest communities and open rocky slopes

  • as a habitat for numerous rare, sometimes highly endangered animal and plant species;
  • as a diverse natural area of ​​special character and beauty;
  • as an area of ​​diverse, large-scale, near-natural habitats that are dependent on extensive land use;
  • as a natural area with an unusual density of near-natural to natural bog areas.
