The Bannwald Wehratal is a nature reserve near Wehr (Baden) in the district of Waldshut .

Characteristics

The nature reserve was designated by ordinance of the Freiburg Regional Council of September 24, 1982 and has a size of around 120 hectares. It is listed under the protected area number 3.122. The CDDA code for the nature reserve is 81358 and corresponds to the WDPA ID .

location

The nature reserve Bannwald Wehratal extends north of the city of Wehr (Baden). However, it only includes the most scenic part of the Wehratal Gorge, which is protected as a whole between Todtmoos-Au and Wehr. The Wehra has created a deep rocky ridge in this section through retreating erosion into the basement . With the rock towers and rocky ridges, the landscape has an almost alpine character.
