Location and description
The Tiefenhäuser Moos nature reserve is located in the municipality of Höchenschwand in the Tiefenhäusern district with a total size of around 4.5 hectares. The last peat cut took place in the war years 1914/18.
Protection purpose
No essential protective purpose was anchored in the ordinance of 1951. The protection purpose of the nature reserve is now defined in § 23 BNatSchG Paragraph 1 Nos. 1-3, whereby the reasons for designating a nature reserve are not limited to ecological or aesthetic aspects, but also extend to scientific, natural history and regional studies Aspects.
