The Taubenmoos nature reserve is located in the municipality of Bernau in the Black Forest in the Waldshut district .

Characteristics

The nature reserve was designated by ordinance of the Freiburg Regional Council of September 16, 2007 and has a size of around 205 hectares. It is listed under the protected area number 3.276. The CDDA code for the nature reserve is 378370 and corresponds to the WDPA ID .

Location and description

The nature reserve is about 1.5 km south of Bernau / Oberlehen and includes the valley floor and the slopes bordering south of the Rönischbächles as well as the open land of the Schönengrund. The nature reserve stretches from northeast to west from the “Grüne Plätz”, “Auf der Raine”, “Taubenmoos”, “Hexenbühl”, “Feldmoos” to the “Hinterwäldemle”, “Neuschweine” to the “Künzishütte” and to the southeast on the tub “Schönengrund” to “Kirchenplatz”. It is a typical post-glacial valley of the Black Forest plateau landscape and the rural cultural landscape with meadows, pastures, forests and moors. It contains a mosaic of different, nationally significant moors, forests, grass grass , rough meadows and other habitats.

Protection purpose

1. The protection purpose of the nature reserve is the preservation and development of the area

  • as a typical, post-glacial valley of the Black Forest plateau landscape and the rural cultural landscape with meadows, pastures, forests and moors;
  • as a mosaic of different, nationwide significant moors, forests, grass grass, poor meadows and other habitats;
  • as a habitat for animal and plant species, some of which are threatened with extinction, from the species protection program of the state of Baden-Württemberg as well as species-rich animal populations.

2. The purpose of protection is also the preservation of habitats and species that are particularly in line with the Habitats Directive and the Birds Directive . According to the requirements there, the following habitats and species occur in the protected area:

Habitats:

Species-rich nistar grass lawns (priority), montane moist tall herbaceous vegetation, mountain hay meadows, near-natural living raised bogs (priority), damaged raised bogs, transitional and swinging turf bogs, lime-rich fens, bog forests, alder and ash forests (priority) on flowing waters, pines.

Species:

Red- backed shrike ( Lanius collurio ), black woodpecker ( Dryocopus martius )
