Location and description

The nature reserve Orchideenwiese Küßnach is located in the area of ​​the municipality of Küssaberg in the district Küßnach with a total size of around 1 ha. The nature reserve comprises a small area of ​​semi-arid grass, which is bordered in the south by a pine forest and interspersed with a few pines and groups of bushes. There are a variety of orchid species.

Protection purpose

No essential protective purpose was anchored in the ordinance of 1962. The protection purpose of the nature reserve is now defined in Section 23 BNatSchG Paragraph 1 Nos. 1-3, whereby the reasons for designating a nature reserve are not limited to ecological or aesthetic aspects, but also extend to scientific, natural history and regional aspects.
