The Horbacher Moor is a raised bog in the southern Black Forest between St. Blasien and Dachsberg near Horbach in the Waldshut district .
history
It has been a nature reserve since 1939. A nature trail leads around the moor . In terms of vegetation and flora, the Horbacher Moor is one of the most valuable raised bogs in the Hotzenwald . With its oval-round shape and evenly clock-glass-shaped bulge, it represents a typical Black Forest high moor. The Horbacher Moor is a late Ice Age relic as a result of the retreat of the Feldberg glacier from the Dachsberg. In 1973 Dieter Knoch initiated the nature trail "Around the Horbacher Moor".
