The nature reserve Orchideenwiese is located in the municipality of Küssaberg in the district of Dangstetten with a total size of around 1.6 hectares. The nature reserve is characterized by colorful poor meadows and lawns and is home to rare orchid species .
Protection purpose
No essential protective purpose was anchored in the ordinance of 1964. The protection purpose of the nature reserve is now defined in § 23 BNatSchG Paragraph 1 Nos. 1-3, whereby the reasons for designating a nature reserve are not limited to ecological or aesthetic aspects, but also extend to scientific, natural history and regional aspects.
