The Gümligen estate is a country estate in the municipality of Muri bei Bern in the canton of Bern .

history

The area of the Hofgut belonged to Ulrich Krieg until December 20, 1628 before it was acquired by Gabriel von Wattenwyl together with the Melchenbühl-Gut by Gabriel von Wattenwyl. The estate came to his son of the same name through Hans Franz von Wattenwyl. In 1730 it was bought by his stepbrother Gabriel von Wattenwyl. His daughter Anna Margaretha sold the estate to Beat Fischer in 1741 . He had already been the owner of the neighboring property for six years, where he had Gümligen Castle built.

Beat Fischer had a mansion built on the property, which from then on was called the little Trianon . In 1754 he sold the estate to his younger brother Emanuel, who had two daughters. The younger, Elisabetha Steiger, wife of Isaak Albrecht Steiger, inherits the estate, which has now been named Steiger-Gut. After Isaak Albrecht Steiger's death, the property with manor house, barn and flower house, 34 Jucharten land and large forests were sold in 1801 to Hans Jakob Gerwer, pastor of Vinelz and dean of the Nidau chapter . In 1812 the pastor's son, Johann Friedrich Gerwer, inherited the estate. Johann Friedrich sold the Gümligen Campagne four years later to David Schwab for 4,700 Louis d'or . David's widow left the estate to her five children in 1839. When the estate was divided, Louise Risold-Schwab and her husband, the Chief Justice and Colonel Karl Emanuel Risold (from Sommerleist ), received the estate alone. Karl died just three years later and the widow sold the campaign to the brothers Ulrich and Andreas Beck from Sumiswald . Andreas later took over half of his brother and in 1855 the doctor Friedrich Bühlmann bought the estate from him. After Friedrich's death, the property was bequeathed to his children Constance and Carl William Bühlmann. The latter bought out his sister. Another change of ownership to Karl Eugen Ludwig Viktor von Tschann followed in that year. A year later, however, he died unmarried and bequeathed the estate to his sister's son, Viktor Adalbert Edmund von Grenus. In 1916 the campaign was started by Dr. Wilhelm Muehlon was bought, six years later the businessman Edgar Adolf Welti became the new owner. The real estate company Hofgut AG acquired the country estate in 1930 and three years later Hans Rufener took over the Hofgut shares and thus the property. In order to maintain the unique campaign, he set up the Hans Rufener-von Camp Foundation.
