The Hohbalm Glacier is a glacier on the east side of the Mischabel group of the Valais Alps . It is nestled between the Lenzspitze ( 4294  m above sea level ), Nadelhorn ( 4327  m ) and Ulrichshorn ( 3925  m above sea level ). The glacier is 3 kilometers long, the area is 2 square kilometers. The most westerly and highest point is the northeast face of the Lenzspitze, this ice wall is separated from the flowing ice by a clear bergschrund . From there the glacier extends in a north-easterly direction. It is bordered by the northeast ridge of the Nadelhorns and the east ridge of the Lenzspitze and their extensions and extends up to an altitude of 2650  m above sea level. M. The water of the Hohbalm glacier flows over the Triftbach into the Saas Vispa .

During the normal ascent to the Nadelhorn , which is frequently climbed , the Hohbalm Glacier is crossed from the Mischabelhütte at an altitude of around 3600 meters in the direction of the Windjoch ( 3850  m above sea level ).

Around the year 1755 is for the Hohbalmgletscher of a glacial lake outburst documented in Saas Fee crop damage dished.
