Hohenstaufen (603 m above sea level) is a northern district of Göppingen on the southern slope of the Hohenstaufen mountain .

history

Hohenstaufen was first mentioned in 1206. The place goes back to the farm yard of the castle and therefore had special privileges as an imperial village .

On August 1, 1971 Hohenstaufen lost an area with almost 150 inhabitants to Ottenbach . Exactly one month later, the rest of the municipality was incorporated into the district town of Göppingen.
