history

Written references to abandoned settlements on today's markings date from the Middle Ages : a place called Billizhausen is mentioned in 998 as an estate of Emperor Otto II . The estates of the St. Georgen Monastery in the Black Forest recorded an abandoned village with the name Schopfloch or Schopflenberg in 1142 , which passed to the Adelberg Monastery in 1331 . In 1110, Count Konrad von Württemberg donated parts of Pathicenriedt to the Blaubeuren monastery , marking the first documented mention of the later name Bezgenriets. 1477 came the place with the ownership rights to the office of Göppingen. On October 1, 1957, Bezgenriet was incorporated into Göppingen as a district.
