Conrad II (Württemberg)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Konrad II. († 1143 ) was lord of Wirtemberg from 1110 to 1143. He was married to Hadelwig.

Konrad's father is unknown; but he is assigned to the Althausen-Veringer counts. The reason for this assumption is the great similarity of the coats of arms of the Counts of Veringen ( Veringenstadt ) and the Counts of Wirtemberg. Therefore it is generally assumed that both noble houses are related. Konrad's mother Liutgard of Beutelsbach was a sister of his predecessor Konrad I. .

After the death of Konrad I, Konrad II appeared as heir to Wirtemberg Castle . Konrad II is named under the Wirtemberger name on May 12, 1110 at the same time as his wife Hadelwig as a donor of goods near Göppingen to the Blaubeuren monastery and on December 28, 1122 as a witness to Emperor Heinrich V of Speyer (the first time as Count , in a later mention without this title, but amid counts).
