Wilhelm Ludwig (born January 7, 1647 in Stuttgart , † June 23, 1677 in Hirsau ) was the ninth reigning Duke of Württemberg from 1674 to 1677 .

Life

Wilhelm Ludwig is the ninth child of Duke Eberhard III. von Württemberg ( House of Württemberg ) and his first wife Anna Katharina Dorothea von Salm-Kyrburg .

He married Magdalena Sibylla von Hessen-Darmstadt on November 6, 1673 in Darmstadt , with whom he had the following children:

At the age of 30, the Duke died completely unexpectedly while taking a bath at Hirsau Castle . His 25-year-old widow Magdalena Sibylla took over the reign of Württemberg from 1677 until her son Eberhard Ludwig could take over the throne in 1693 at the age of 16.
