Magdalena Wilhelmine von Württemberg (born November 7, 1677 in Stuttgart ; † October 30, 1742 in Karlsburg in Durlach ) was a margravine of Baden .

Life

Magdalena Wilhelmine was the daughter of Duke Wilhelm Ludwig von Württemberg and Magdalena Sibylla von Hessen-Darmstadt . In order to strengthen the Baden-Württemberg, she married the Hereditary Prince of Baden and later Margrave Karl III on June 27, 1697 . Wilhelm of Baden-Durlach . Since Magdalena Wilhelmine had a big nose and other flaws, she did not correspond to the beauty ideals of Karl Wilhelm, who loved beautiful women. After Magdalena had given birth to him, the couple moved away. When Karl Wilhelm founded his new residence in Karlsruhe in 1715 , he moved into the new palace alone , while his wife stayed in Karlsburg palace.

After Charles III. Wilhelm died in 1738, Magdalena Wilhelmine belonged to the guardianship government for her grandson Karl-Friedrich, who was only nine years old . After her death she was buried in the margravial crypt of the castle church in Pforzheim .
