Eveshausen is a part of the local community Dommershausen in the Rhein-Hunsrück district in Rhineland-Palatinate . Until 1974 Eveshausen was an independent municipality.
geography
Eveshausen lies on a ridge in the low mountain range of the northern Hunsrück between the Baybachtal and the Lützbachtal .
history
The place is first mentioned in documents on 14 September 1264, as Philip of Wildenburg (in Treis) and his wife Irmgard von Braunshorn the Kloster Maria Engelport among other goods in Evelshusin transmitted.
The place belonged to the Beltheim court until the dissolution of the three-man rule in 1780 and then came to the Counts of Metternich-Winneburg-Beilstein .
As part of the first Rhineland-Palatinate administrative and territorial reform that began in the second half of the 1960s, the previously independent community of Eveshausen was dissolved on March 17, 1974 and the current local community of Dommershausen was formed from it and three other communities.

The local advisory board consists of five local advisory board members. In the local elections on May 26, 2019 , the advisory board members were elected by majority vote.
The head of the village is Hermann Knöppel. In the local election on May 26, 2019, he was elected with 68.97% of the vote.
