Hoinkes Peak is a pointed rocky peak of the Enterprise Hills in the Heritage Range in West Antarctica . The 1840 m high mountain is located in the west of the mountain range, at the head of the Henderson Glacier .
The mountain was mapped by the United States Geological Survey as part of the Enterprise Hills survey in 1961-66 through field surveys and aerial photographs by the United States Navy . It was named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names after Herfried C. Hoinkes , who worked as a meteorologist on the American Antarctic station Little America V in 1957 .
