Holger Krawinkel

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Holger Krawinkel (* 1956 ) is a German manager and former consumer advocate .

Life

He studied geography and political science at the University of Gießen and spatial planning at the University of Oldenburg . He finished his studies as a graduate engineer, then he did his doctorate on the Danish energy planning system for Dr. rer. pole. He then worked as a consultant in the Schleswig-Holstein Ministry of Energy . In 1994 he became a board member of the Schleswig-Holstein Energy Foundation . From 2004 he headed the building, energy and environment department at the Federal Association of Consumer Organizations . In this function he took part in conferences in the field of energy policy .

In mid-July 2014, Krawinkel took on the task of setting up a new department at the Mannheim-based energy company MVV Energie , which should “focus on the interests and needs of the energy supplier's customers”. His position at the VZBV is being filled.

Positions

Krawinkel advocates the energy transition with the switch to renewable energies , but criticizes its implementation. In the past he mainly criticized the strong expansion of the energy supply compared to other forms of energy such as B. Onshore wind energy comparatively expensive photovoltaics ; After their significant reduction in price as a result of the drastic drop in module prices, his criticism extends primarily to offshore wind farms and biogas plants for cost reasons . He sees wind farms on land as the “cheap maker” of the energy transition, and he expressly supports their expansion.

He also sees a problem of fairness in the implementation of the energy transition, especially with regard to the exemptions for industry, which have recently been significantly expanded by the black and yellow government . In order to reduce costs, he proposes a “clear cut” in the industrial exemptions and a reduction in electricity tax .

Furthermore, Krawinkel repeatedly complained of a lack of competition in the energy sector as a price driver. As early as 2004, when the EEG surcharge was still negligible, he described the monopoly position of the four large energy groups as the main reason for the high prices on the German energy market. In 2012, he said that competition in the electricity sector was still poor.
