Holger Loew

Holger Loew (born January 15, 1978 in Reinheim ) was a German cyclist and junior world champion in the 1990s .

Career

After Loew won the Trofeo Karlsberg junior stage race in 1995 , he became junior world champion in single road driving in Novo mesto, Slovenia in 1996 . He also completed the BDR Brügelmann Cup ranking in 1995 and 1996 as the best of the year.

As a U23 driver, he was a member of the Köstritzer team from Erfurt . In 1998 Holger Loew was diagnosed with Pfeiffer's glandular fever . Despite a longer break, he was never able to really recover from this, so that he could not record any notable successes (with the exception of the East Thuringian Cycling Days 2000). Nevertheless, he still became a professional, with the Post Swiss team in 2001 and with the Wiesenhof team in 2002 . After suffering from arterial disease in the thigh and groin muscles as well as related operations, Holger Loew said goodbye to cycling. After his career as a competitive athlete, he runs a sports shop with branches in Darmstadt and Frankfurt am Main .
