Holger Wienpahl (born November 30, 1965 in Wuppertal as Holger Schmitz ) is a German sports journalist and television presenter .

Life

Wienpahl was born in Wuppertal and attended the Wilhelm-Dörpfeld-Gymnasium together with Christoph Maria Herbst , where the two graduated from high school in 1985 . Wienpahl then studied history and sports science at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal , which he completed in 1993 as a master's (MA). Meanwhile he worked as a freelancer for the Westdeutsche Zeitung (1987 to 1993) and for Südwestfunk (1989 to 1995). After completing an internship at the SWF in Baden-Baden, Wienpahl has been working as a television editor for today's Südwestrundfunk since 1996 .

Holger Wienpahl is married, has two daughters and lives in Kaiserslautern . He is a fan of Wuppertaler SV .
