Floodlight (sports broadcast)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Since April 1, 1984, the sports program on SWR television and the former SWF for Rhineland-Palatinate has been floodlit . It was broadcast live in front of an audience on Sundays at 10:05 p.m. from the Landesfunkhaus Rheinland-Pfalz in Mainz in the third program of Südwestrundfunk and lasted 55 minutes. It was replaced by the SWR Sport program in 2019  .

subjects

The selection of topics had a strong regional connection to the state of Rhineland-Palatinate and interview partners from the sports sector were mostly invited. Topics were current events from the previous sports week. In football , the focus was on the Bundesliga teams 1. FSV Mainz 05 and 1. FC Kaiserslautern . At times there was more detailed coverage of TuS Koblenz when it played in the 2nd Bundesliga for four years . Other contributions to team sports were, for example, women's football from SC 07 Bad Neuenahr , table tennis from FSV Kroppach or basketball from TBB Trier , in individual or pair sports, for example, the Koblenz fencer Peter Joppich or the art team Katrin Schultheis and Sandra Sprinkmeier from Mainz.

At the beginning of the year, the program honored the Rhineland-Palatinate athlete of the year chosen on the Internet . Previously, there was a choice of athletes, athletes and team of the year.
