Holystone Slope is a 1.9 km wide ice slope in East Antarctica Victoria Land . In the Convoy Range , it begins at the flight deck firn field and runs north-west with a gentle slope between Dotson Ridge and Dory-Nunatak .
The New Zealand Geographic Board named the ice slope in 1993 after the holystone , a specific form of sandstone that was used in the 18th and 19th centuries in the Royal Navy and then in the United States Navy for cleaning ship decks .
