The Holzbach is a 3 km long orographic left tributary of the Auelsbach in the North Rhine-Westphalian town of Lohmar , Germany .

The Holzbach rises about 600 m west of the Lohmarer district Heide at an altitude of 156 m above sea level. NN . The stream flows mainly in north-westerly directions through an uninhabited valley. After a river stretch of 3 km, the stream flows out at 86 m above sea level. NN left in the Auelsbach .
It overcomes a height difference of 70 m, which corresponds to a mean bed gradient of 23.3 ‰.
Catchment area
The catchment area of around 2 km² lies in the Bergische Heideterrassen and is drained to the North Sea via Auelsbach, Agger , Sieg and Rhine .
It borders
- in the east to the Breidenbach , the left source brook of the Auelsbach (main hydrological line)
- in the south to the Rothenbach , an Agger tributary
- and in the west to the Schwarzsiefenbach , also a tributary of the Agger.
The area is forested in the western part and grassland predominates in the eastern part.
