The Hongqi L5 is a sedan of the upper class of the Chinese automaker China FAW Group owned brand Hongqi . In contrast to the larger L7 and L9 , which serve exclusively as state cars for the Chinese government, the L5 is also officially sold.
history
The L5 was first shown to the public at the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2013. Shortly afterwards, the limousine was used for the first time during a visit by French President François Hollande . The production model, which is also being sold to private individuals for nearly five million yuan , made its debut at the Beijing Auto Show in April 2014. Two L5s were exported as gifts to Belarus , where they serve as parade vehicles for the Belarusian military.

Compared to the larger L9, which has portal doors, the L5 has conventional doors. The sedan is powered by a twelve-cylinder gasoline engine with a displacement of six liters . This engine has an output of 300 kW (408 hp) and 550 Nm. The top speed is 200 km / h and the L5 should accelerate to 100 km / h in 10.2 seconds.
