Horácio dos Santos Marques (born December 26, 1962 in Bauro , Portuguese Timor ) is an East Timorese archivist and civil servant. Since 2014 he has been Director General of the National Archives of East Timor , the Arquivo Nacional de Timor-Leste .

Career

Marques went to primary school in the SPP Dom Bosco in Fuiloro and graduated from Don Bosco College there. Then he attended the Fatumaca Technical School and the Colégio de São José in Dili . Marques received a bachelor's degree in government science from APDN in Kupang , Indonesia .

In 1997, Marques completed a degree in political science at the Ilmu Pemerintahan Institute ( German  Institute for Government Studies ) in Jakarta and in 2010 received a master's degree in public administration from the University of Brawijaya in Malang . During the Indonesian occupation, he headed various institutions in East Timor from 1989 to 1999. So he from 1998 to in 1999. Administrator of the sub-district iliomar subdistrict .

From 2000 to 2001, Marques taught at the Universidade Nasionál Timór Lorosa'e (UNTL) and from 2001 headed different bodies in the public administration of East Timor, which was independent from 2002. In 2012 he was National Director for Administrative Support at Suco Level ( Director Nacional de Apoio à Administração dos Sucos DNAAS). On March 20, 2014, Marques became Director General of the National Archives, which reports to the Ministry of State Administration.

Horácio Marques is married. He speaks Portuguese, English and Bahasa Indonesia as foreign languages .
