Horse Heaven Hills AVA (recognized since 2005) is a wine-growing region in the southern US state of Washington . The area is part of the supra-regional Columbia Valley AVA and is located in the south of the Yakima Valley AVA . With nearly 230,680 hectares of approved vineyards, Horse Heaven Hills AVA is one of the largest protected designations of origin in the state.

Wineries

Horse Heavens Hills is home to the state's largest winery, Columbia Crest Winery in Paterson. In addition to almost 24,000,000 bottles of its own production, the company sorts the sparkling wines of the well-known Domaine Ste Michelle .
