The Horse of the Year Show , also known as HOYS known is an international horse show in Birmingham ( UK ). It is advertised as CSI 3 *.

The tournament was first held in 1949 at the Harringay Arena in London . After the arena was sold and used, the tournament moved to the Empire Pool (now Wembley Arena ) within London . The tournament was held here from 1959 to 2001.

The tournament has been held at the National Exhibition Center in Birmingham since 2002 . The tournament takes place every year in October.

"Leading show jumper of the year"

The main test of the tournament, the Leading Show Jumper of the year Grand Prix (Grand Prix for the “leading show jumper of the year”). This test takes place every Sunday evening, it is a jumping competition with two rounds with an obstacle height of up to 1.60 meters. The prize money in 2019 was around £ 46,000 .

Power jumping

The power jump marks the end of the tournament Saturday. The 2019 exam was worth £ 15,000.
