Horst (comic)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Horst is a German comic series by Robi (text) and Geier (drawings). It has been published by Verlag Schwarzer Turm since 2000 , initially in black and white and from number 13 in color.

The main role in the series is played by Horst Bruckner , a “freelance artist” who has already worked as a writer , director and presenter and who prefers to spend his money on visits to brothels and so-called “ soft drugs ”. On the one hand he is addicted to sex, on the other hand he doesn't want to have a relationship.

The figures in Horst are anthropomorphic animals. Horst, for example, is a beater . His best friend is a hippopotamus ; The artists use the entire spectrum of the animal kingdom to depict Horst's work colleagues, his acquaintances and prostitutes . According to the author, all stories are based on true events from his circle of friends.

The series, which, according to Eckart Sackmann, does not reach the level of drawing ” “of which the artist is capable ”, was awarded the ICOM prize in the Funny category in 2001 by the Comic Association (ICOM) .
