Horst Bauer (publisher)

Horst Bauer (born March 27, 1923 in Berlin-Pankow ; † November 19, 2007 ) was a German publisher .

Career

Bauer was born as the son of Wilhelm Bauer in Berlin. His father was a board member of the aircraft manufacturer Focke-Wulf . After studying and doing a PhD iur. utr. In 1951 he joined the publishing house of the Hanauer Anzeiger . After the death of his father-in-law Paul Nack , he took over the management of the company in 1968. In 1970 he started the advertising paper Hanauer Wochenpost , in 1974 he took over the Langenselbolder Zeitung . From 1985 he managed the company together with his son Thomas.

He was a board member of the Association of Hessian Newspaper Publishers as well as chairman and board member of the local press and the association of German local newspapers . From 1982 to 1994 he was President of the IHK Hanau-Gelnhausen-Schlüchtern.
