Horst Gall

Horst Gall (born January 31, 1938 in Schnellmannskreuth ; † September 25, 1980 ) was a German paleontologist and curator at the Bavarian State Collection in Munich.

He attended the schools in Spatzenhausen and Murnau . Studying geology and paleontology in Munich was followed by a doctorate in 1969. He became an assistant at the Geological-Paleontological Institute in Munich and in 1979 conservator at the Bavarian State Collection. He played a major role in the exploration of the Ries crater and created a geological map of the Nördlinger Ries .
