Horst Jungmann (born November 5, 1934 ) is a former soccer goalkeeper .

career

The goalkeeper of the KSC amateurs, Horst Jungmann, particularly distinguished himself in the competition of the regional cup in the 1954/55 season in the selection of North Baden in the games against Württemberg (4: 1), Rhineland (4: 1) and the eventual cup winners Bayern (0: 4). In the field, North Baden was led by Horst Kunzmann and Max Schwall . For the round 1956/57 he was taken over in the squad of the league team of the eleven from the Wildparkstadion . Rudi Fischer was the undisputed number one in the KSC goal. In the 4-0 home win on March 17, 1957 against Schwaben Augsburg, Jungmann made his debut in the league. Before him, the defenders Wilhelm Dimmel and Walter Bauis and the runner row with Heinz Ruppenstein , Werner Hesse and Werner Roth acted on the defensive . At the end of the round, the reservist had played five games and the KSC had finished the round as third in the table. When he won the championship in 1957/58, Fischer played all 30 games in the case of the KSC. When the number one in the 1958/59 series was canceled due to illness and injury, Jungmann made 15 appearances, Fischer 14 games and the former youth national player Rolf Bierhoff was in a league game in the KSC goal. When Jungmann won the title in the 1959/60 season, too, Jungmann's active contribution was modest; he was only allowed to represent Rudi Fischer in one game. In the South German Cup, on the other hand, he was in goal in the two semi-finals on June 26 and July 3 in Augsburg against 1. FC Nürnberg. The first game ended after extra time 2-2, the second KSC won with 2-1 goals. In the final on July 30, 1960 in Mannheim against Eintracht Frankfurt, Karlsruhe won 2-1 goals, but Fischer's successor, Manfred Paul , was already in the KSC goal. Also in the DFB Cup semi-final on October 5th in the Wildpark Stadium at home against FK Pirmasens, the ranking in the KSC goal was clear in the 2-0 win, Paul was in the goal. Four days before the final for the DFB Cup , on October 1, Paul injured himself so persistently in the 4-1 home win against VfB Stuttgart that he could not return to the KSC goal until December 11, 1960. Jungmann stood with KSC on October 5, 1960 in the final of the DFB Cup , which Baden lost 3-2 to Borussia Mönchengladbach .

Jungmann played 28 games for Karlsruher SC in the Oberliga Süd from 1956 to 1961 .
