Career

Horst Lesser, who started for the Motor Brotterode association, made his international debut at the Four Hills Tournament in 1955/56 after winning the title at the GDR youth championships in 1954 in Nordic combined and ski jumping. During the tour he started his first competition in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and reached rank 24, before jumping into the top 10 for the first time with eighth place on the zinc hill in Hallein and thus also achieving the best tour result. In the overall standings, Lesser took 22nd place.
