Horst Mohr

Horst Mohr (born June 18, 1920 in Brandenburg an der Havel ) is a former German party functionary of the GDR block party NDPD . From 1954 to 1958 he was a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR .

Life

Mohr, the son of a businessman, attended elementary school and high school up to middle school. He became a clerk and worked as a retailer. During the Second World War , he was drafted into the Wehrmacht in 1940 and was taken prisoner by the Soviets in 1945. There he joined the Antifa committees.

After his return in 1947 he worked again as a grocery retailer and in 1948 became a member of the National Democratic Party of Germany (NDPD). In 1950 he was appointed by the party as a city councilor for trade and supply in Brandenburg. On June 17, 1950 he was elected at the 2nd party congress of the NDPD to a member of the main board and on June 18, 1951 at the 3rd party congress to a member of the main committee of the NDPD. In 1951 he was first head of the economics department, then political manager and finally deputy chairman of the NDPD state association in Brandenburg . After the administrative reform in the summer of 1952 he became chairman of NDPD District Association and member of the District Day Cottbus . From July 1953 to 1962 he acted as deputy chairman for trade and supply of the council of the Magdeburg district . At the same time he was a member of the Magdeburg district assembly.

After studying at a distance, he passed the diploma examination for economics at the German Academy for Political Science and Law “Walter Ulbricht” in Potsdam-Babelsberg in 1954 . From 1954 to 1958 he was a member of the NDPD parliamentary group in the People's Chamber of the GDR. From 1962 he was employed as a lecturer at the University for National Politics in Waldsieversdorf . Later he was a member of the secretariat of the NDPD district association Leipzig and director of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) Leipzig (successor to Max Simon ).
