Horst Rohne (born September 5, 1941 ) is a former German soccer goalkeeper , sports official and MfS employee .

Athletic career

After Horst Rohne had been used by Dynamo Dresden as a goalkeeper in the junior division until 1960 , he was accepted into the squad of the first men's team for the 1961/62 season. This played in the second-rate GDR league and had to complete 39 point games from February 1961 to June 1962 after the change from the calendar year game rhythm to the summer-spring season. Although Rohne was only intended as the third goalkeeper, he ousted the previous goalkeeper Helmut Danilowski with 35 appearances. Dynamo Dresden made it to the GDR league this season , and Rohne was nominated for number one goal for the 1962/63 season due to his previous year's performance. He was also used four times in the first five matchdays, but then the team had a goal difference of 7:14. Coach Helmut Petzold took this as an opportunity to change goalkeepers and put in his second goalkeeper Peter Noske until the end of the season . Rohne was only called up for matchday 12 and again five days before the end of the season. At the end of the season Dynamo Dresden had to relegate from the league again. For Horst Rohne, this ended his career as a football player in high-class football.

Work for the Ministry for State Security (MfS)

Rohne, a graduate of the SED district party school in Dresden , has worked for the MfS since the early 1970s. There he was initially responsible for the Dynamo sports association and was then launched on the board of SG Dynamo Dresden. In 1973 he was confirmed as an officer on special operations (ObiE). After initially serving as the deputy chairman of the sports community, he took over the office of SG chairman in 1975. As such, he had the task of "offensive security and reconnaissance of the Dresden Olympic squad". After Dynamo Dresden crashed to seventh place in the league in 1983, Rohne was accused of inadequate performance development of the team and deposed him as SG chairman. He was transferred to SG Dynamo Zinnwald , where he became section head for racing sledding, but also continued his work as OibE.
