Horst Siebert (pedagogue)

Horst Siebert (born July 8, 1939 in Iserlohn ) is a German educationalist and was professor at the Leibniz University of Hanover from 1977 to 2007 .

Life

After studying literary studies , classical philology and philosophy in Kiel and Munich, he wrote a dissertation on Hegel's influence on Friedrich Hebbel in 1965 . In 1966 he became an assistant at the Institute for Education at the Ruhr University in Bochum , and in 1969 he completed his habilitation on adult education in the GDR . From 1970 Siebert was professor for adult education at the Lower Saxony University of Education , from 1977 at the University of Hanover. He was also an honorary professor at the University of Alexandru Ioan Cuza Iași ( Romania ) and lectured in Sofia , Vienna , Bielefeld and Lüneburg .

Siebert is one of the leading constructivists in German educational science. He is a specialist in adult education.
