Horst Wetterling

Horst Wetterling (* 1915 in Magdeburg ; † 1986 ) was a German educational scientist and university professor.

He first taught as a lecturer at the Adolf Reichwein School in Celle the specialist education and became Easter 1952 Professor. At the successor institutions of the University of Education Osnabrück and the University of Osnabrück , he held a chair in the field of educational sciences and worked there until 1981. His wife was a qualified chemist.

Wetterling dealt among other things with the effect of television on children and in 1952 led a study group that dealt with school television . Since 1956 he was a member of the expert committee of the ARD's permanent program conference and was a member of the school television working group . He criticized the Walt Disney cartoons as "the business product of a factory of platitude and macho".

In addition to the training of elementary school teachers, one of his focuses was also sex education . In the late 1960s, for example, he defended the expert and sex researcher Hans Giese in the dispute over the publications of the journalist Oswalt Kolle , who became known for his texts and films on sexual education.
