The Hostettler Group is a Swiss wholesale company active in various areas . The group of companies, which consists of seven subsidiaries and is based in Sursee , employs around 700 people and, according to the Handelszeitung , generated consolidated sales of 275 million Swiss francs in 2006.

Field of activity

The business activities of the Hostettler Group extend over several areas around the topics of cars , engines , two-wheelers and trend sports .

Hostettler Autotechnik AG , with its ten locations, specializes in the sale of vehicle spare parts and accessories of all kinds. Hostettler also supplies the garage industry with car and motorcycle tires .

Hostettler Motoren AG imports and sells motorized gardening tools of all kinds. These range from cutting tools such as hedge trimmers , lawnmowers , mulching mowers , lawn tractors, chain saws and log splitters , to sprayers and leaf blowers , to snow blowers and caterpillar transporters.

In the two-wheeler segment, Hostettler is the general importer for Yamaha motorcycles and scooters in Switzerland. In addition to the main products of motorcycles and scooters, Hostettler also supplies the authorized specialist shops with quads , snowmobiles , golf carts , generators and the corresponding accessories.

In the sport and leisure sector, Hostettler supplies specialist shops with bicycles and related accessories under the name Intercycle and with sport and lifestyle oriented clothing and accessories under the name Cosmosport . Hostettler also offers clothing and equipment for motorcycle, mountain bike and downhill riders under the brands Motochic , IXS Motorcycle Fashion and IXS Sports Division .

history

The family business was founded in Wolhusen in 1906 as a bicycle and motorcycle workshop and converted into Hostettler AG in 1957 . The takeover of the general import of Yamaha motorcycles in 1968 provided an important growth impetus. Hostettler Autotechnik AG was founded four years later. The company Intercycle, active in the bicycle sector, followed in 1979, the motorcycle clothing brand IXS in 1981 and Hostettler Motoren AG in 1987. With the establishment of a subsidiary in Germany, the company expanded abroad in 1991.
