The House Nunatak is an approximately 1300 m high nunatak in the West Antarctic Ellsworthland . It rises 6 km southeast of the Whitmill Nunatak in the group of the Grossman Nunatakker .
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) mapped it on the basis of its own surveys and with the help of aerial photographs taken by the United States Navy between 1961 and 1968. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1987 after the American cartographer John R. House Jr. from the USGS, who served at Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station and Byrd Station between 1972 and 1973 .
