Hovhannes Baptist Apcar
Hovhannes Baptist Apcar , also John Baptist Apcar or Johannes Baptist Apcar (born January 4, 1884 in Giulfa , Iran ; † July 9, 1967 ), was the Armenian Catholic Bishop of Ispahan in Iran.
Life
Hovhannes Apcar was ordained a priest of the Armenian Catholic Church on November 3, 1907 . On August 24, 1954, he received the appointment of the Armenian Catholic Synod as Bishop of Ispahan, which was on September 24, 1954 by Pope Pius XII. has been confirmed.
The Patriarch of Cilicia Archbishop Krikor Bedros XV. Agagianian and the co-consecrators Archbishop Iknadios Batanian and Archbishop Nerses Tayroyan initiated him on 21 November 1954 to the bishop. He was a participant in the first and second session of the Second Vatican Council .
