Hrun ( Ukrainian Грунь ; Russian Grun ) is a village in the south of the Ukrainian Oblast Sumy with about 2200 inhabitants (2004).

The village of Hrun, first mentioned in 1663, is located on the river of the same name and until 2016 was the administrative center of a district council in Ochtyrka Rajon , to which the villages of Avramkivshchyna and Scholudky also belonged. On August 16, 2016, the village became the center of the newly established rural community Hrun ( Грунська сільська громада Hrunska silska hromada ). At this still count the 16 villages Awramkiwschtschyna ( Аврамківщина ) Bandury ( Бандури ) Bindany ( Бідани ) Hnylyzja ( Гнилиця ) Iwachy ( Івахи ) Kusemyn ( Куземин ) Molodezke ( Молодецьке ) Plastjuky ( Пластюки ) Rybalske ( Рибальське ) Rubany ( Рубани ) Schabaltajewe ( Шабалтаєве ) Schapowaliwka ( Шаповалівка ) Scholoby ( Жолоби ) Scholudky ( Шолудьки ) Skelka ( Скелька ) and Wjasowe ( В'язове ).

The Rajon center of Ochtyrka is 26 km northeast and the Oblast center Sumy about 100 km northeast of the village.

In the village there is a museum about Ostap Wyschnja (Ukrainian Остап Вишня ; 1889–1956), a Ukrainian writer, satirist and field scorer who was born in the hamlet of Chechva ( Чечва ) , which today belongs to Hrun .
