Hugo Mayer (politician, 1899)

Hugo Mayer (born January 21, 1899 in Hintertiefenbach ; † August 22, 1968 there ) was a CDU politician from the Palatinate and a member of the German Bundestag .

Life

After secondary school, Hugo Mayer worked on his parents' farm from 1915 to 1922. 1923–1924 he attended the provincial college for fruit and wine growing in Bad Kreuznach . In the following years he was an employee at Kirner Bank and authorized signatory of a metal goods company in Idar-Oberstein until 1926, and later he ran his own farm.

Hugo Mayer was a member of the district committee and deputy district administrator as a representative of the CDU after 1945 . In the first and second electoral periods (1949–1957) he represented the constituency of Bad Kreuznach / Birkenfeld in the Bundestag as a directly elected member . In both terms he was a full member of the Petitions Committee. In the first electoral term he was a full member of the Committee on Social Policy, as a deputy member of the Committee on Child Welfare (until December 1949), in the second term he was a full member of the Committee on Occupation Consequences, until February 1954 of the Committee on Public Issues Welfare, until 1955 of the Social Policy Committee. As an alternate member, he was a member of the Labor Committee and, since January 1957, the Local Policy Committee.

In the first legislative period, he worked in the Committee for Social Policy on the draft laws for the establishment of the Federal Labor Office , on the equalization of family burdens, on the Child Allowance Act, on compensation for war victims and on the Maternity Protection Act . In the second legislative period, he worked on the Social Committee on the Child Benefit Act , on the workers' pension scheme and on the draft law to create the Federal Insurance Agency .
