Hugo Schubert (born October 13, 1874 in Vienna ; † October 19, 1913 there ) was an Austrian portrait and genre painter, as well as an etcher and illustrator.

Hugo Schubert received his first painting lessons from his father, the painter August Anton Schubert (1853–1937).

From 1889 to 1892 he studied at the Graphic Education and Research Institute , then at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna with Siegmund L'Allemand , Franz Rumpler and William Unger .

He spent 1902 and 1903 in Italy, after which he worked as a freelance artist in Vienna. In 1910 he became a member of the Albrecht Dürer Association.

He died at the age of 39.
